Hoekstra BV is in 1963 opgericht door de broers Jelle en Willem Hoekstra. Voor die tijd was Jelle Hoekstra werkzaam voor assurantiekantoor De Wit uit Urk. In eerste instantie als medewerker, later als medefirmant.
